Acrylic Painting
Acrylic paint is a very recent discovery in the art world when compared to oil paints and watercolors. Its versatile nature, vibrancy, and stability has meant it has taken the art world by storm! Give it a try.
Classes are taught by our talented, professional artist members in our beautiful historic downtown building. If you’ve ever thought about taking up acrylics, or improving your current skill level, these classes are for you! To join a class, please reach out to one of the instructors below. You don’t need to be an NBAL Member to take classes - anyone over 18 is welcome!
Instructor: Frances Fontaine
Date and Time: Wed. afternoon from 1:00-4:00 pm. Classes start August 21, 2024. Cost: $174 for six classes Location: Memorial Room, Oil & Acrylic Painting Lessons - Beginner to Advanced
We will review important painting basics like value, color mixing, design, etc. Frances will teach a lesson or do a demo each week. Composition, color study, expressing yourself with bold, juicy brushwork will be included! Loosey-goosey is how we roll! These classes are fun with a serious approach to learning all things painting. Instructor: Gaye Sekula
Date & Time: First Tuesdays, 9 am to noon. Class limited to 8 students Cost: $50 per session, plus $5 /student studio fee Location: Bower Classroom A class for intermediate to advanced students who work in oil, acrylic, pastel, or watercolor and are ready to put in the work necessary to take their art to the next level. Assignments will be given to be worked on between sessions and students will be asked to share their results. Students will receive guidance for their specific journey and help setting and reaching their personal goals. *Must have a good working knowledge of their chosen medium.
