Discover the mesmerizing world of paint marbling in this workshop led by marbling artist Leah McKnight. In water marbling, paint is applied to thickened water and manipulated to create vibrant patterns. Once complete, paper and objects are dipped to capture the image.
In this all-day workshop, Leah introduces you to the magic of paint marbling. You’ll begin by learning techniques to create various patterns. As the morning unfolds, you’ll ease into the meditative flow and produce over 10 marbled papers. In the afternoon, we’ll shift to marbling objects like hand fans, coasters, cards, bookmarks, and silk handkerchiefs. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a collection of one-of-a-kind marbled keepsakes plus knowledge to continue your marbling adventures at home. Supplies included!
In this workshop, you will:
- Learn about the history of paint marbling
- Learn techniques to create a variety of patterns
- Practice letting go of expectations and going with the flow
- Take home a collection of marbled papers to craft with or frame, plus 5+ other marbled projects
- Gain a deeper appreciation for this mesmerizing craft

Leah is a lover & explorer of all fluid art forms. Marbling is her happy place; it gets her out of her head and into the present moment. There’s nothing like losing track of time at the marbling tank! Sharing this art form with others is one of her favorite things to do; she has taught over 30 marbling workshops in and around Austin, TX.

Refund Policy: Workshop fees, less a 10% processing fee, are refundable until 30 days before the workshop. All workshops have a minimum enrollment number and are not held if enrollments do not reach that number. Should NBAL need to cancel a workshop due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be given. No refunds are provided less than 30 days before the workshop start date unless the seat is resold. In that event, any refunds are still subject to the standard 10% processing fee.
Workshop attendees must be 18 and older.
