Open Art Lab - Any Media Welcome
The Open Art lab is a new concept, intended to take art instruction to the next level! In these sessions, you pursue YOUR interests, you perfect YOUR style, you work in YOUR medium! Join in this new experience!!! You pick your project, your medium, your supplles. Your instructor is there to help you with every step along the way, as your mentor, your muse, your Individual instructor! If you have trouble deciding what to do, she will help you!
So, what does this mean? The lab is open from 10 to 4 pm ... in the Bower
c:lassroom ... every Monday, from September 8, 15, 22, 29, to October 6, 20 .no class on October t3t11 ... PLEIN AIRE HERE!!!!!
You will come to the Bower classroom at 10:00 AM ..• or maybe
11:00 ... or 1:00 pm .. whateuer works for you. During these hours You will
have Eilen's help ..
There will be one lesson each week at hOO pm-it will be on a topic that applies to all artists, exs Design and composit.ion.,.or color-etc. You can participate OI" not! Up to you! , She will also haue project for you to complete, if you are interested.
You can work for one hour or 6 hours-.fee is $185, whether
you work one hour or 6 hours. Bring a $5.00 bill each week to pay for studio fees. NO MAKEUP TIMES.-JUST COME WHEN

Classes are taught by our talented, professional artist members in our beautiful historic downtown building. If you’ve ever thought about taking up acrylics, or improving your current skill level, these classes are for you! To join a class, please reach out to one of the instructors below. You don’t need to be an NBAL Member to take classes - anyone over 18 is welcome!

Instructor: Frances Fontaine
Date and Time: Wed. afternoon from 1:00-4:00 pm. Classes start August 20, 2025. Cost: $150 + $30 Studio Fee for six weeks Location: Bower Classroom Oil & Acrylic Painting Lessons - Beginner to Advanced
We will review important painting basics like value, color mixing, design, etc. Frances will teach a lesson or do a demo each week. Composition, color study, expressing yourself with bold, juicy brushwork will be included! Loosey-goosey is how we roll! These classes are fun with a serious approach to learning all things painting. Instructor: Gaye Sekula
Date & Time: First Tuesdays, 9 am to noon. Class limited to 8 students Cost: $50 per session, plus $5 /student studio fee Location: Bower Classroom A class for intermediate to advanced students who work in oil, acrylic, pastel, or watercolor and are ready to put in the work necessary to take their art to the next level. Assignments will be given to be worked on between sessions and students will be asked to share their results. Students will receive guidance for their specific journey and help setting and reaching their personal goals. *Must have a good working knowledge of their chosen medium.
