"Figure Drawing"
A Three Day, Hands-On Workshop With Kraig Kiedrowski Jan 15-17, 2027

This is a drawing workshop but it’s really about seeing. Drawing well is testimony to the act of seeing. How we perceive our subject our surroundings our inner world and how we convey it is what makes up the content of our art. When we hear a story do we want to hear one that is convoluted has too many characters and never gets to the point? It’s the same in drawing we must simplify our material to get our point across and hold the interest of the viewer. To see with clarity is to draw with clarity. This is the approach to drawing we will address in this three day workshop.
We will start our mornings with simple forms and shapes in space and build from there. We will spend the second half of the day drawing from a live model. They say the human body is the most complex form an artist can tackle and indeed the study of the nude is time honored for a reason. You hear that if you can draw the figure you can draw anything. I agree and will add that if you can draw the circle the ellipse the cylinder and the cube you can begin to draw the figure. More about Kraig, Website
