Michael deMeng, a master of assemblage and altered art, will share his signature techniques in a workshop centered on crafting art from unexpected materials. Known for his innovative style and inspiring teaching, Michael’s workshops are a must for those wanting to elevate their artistic practice.
DeMeng, based in Vancouver, Canada, exhibits and teaches his unique art techniques worldwide. His innovative methods and artistic insights are captured in three acclaimed books published by NorthLight Books: Secrets of Rusty Things, Dusty Diablos, and The Art Abandonment Project.
Michael's art delves into themes of transformation, taking discarded materials and breathing new life into them through unexpected combinations. His work embodies rebirth, reimagining these elements as they fuse with other surprising components. Drawing inspiration from myths and legends, his assemblages serve as metaphors for the perpetual cycles of life, death, and renewal. They explore the ever-changing nature of meaning and function in a world in constant flux, offering profound reflections on existence and evolution.
