About the Archive of Member Art
Beginning in February 2023, the Art League's marketing team embarked on the creation of a collection of professionally captured images of members' award-winning art that is showcased roughly monthly in the series of Special Shows. Prior to that, there was no image-focused process to preserve the history of the art passing through the doors of the Art League year upon year.
A special photographic team was formed and trained in digital archiving techniques, and has been refining its capture process with every new gallery show. The images produced by this team are high-resolution digital reproductions produced to ensure color and perspective accuracy, and each image is suitable for high-quality reproductions. Filenames include the title, artist, and medium so that these important data accompany the image wherever it is used.
The team plans to continually capture and add to the archive each time a new show announces its winners. It is anticipated that the archive will grow by over 150 images each year. While the archive aims to preserve several hundreds of images over the next few years as the project continues, the work captures just a fraction of the tremendous volume of art being produced by the members of the New Braunfels Art League!
